Domestic Violence Awareness Month
History
Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) was first observed in October of 1981 as a national “Day of Unity”. DVAM is held each October as a way to promote awareness about domestic violence and unite those who stand in solidarity with victims and survivors.
